Genetic and Biochemical Characterization of Some Egyptian Rhizobia Isolates Nodulating Faba Bean
نویسنده
چکیده
Ten Rhizobial isolates were isolated from root nodules of Faba bean plants (Viciae faba L.) grown in different soil types and representing different geographic locations in Egypt. The isolates were characterized biochemically for their production of eachIAA and catalase. The tested isolates differed in their IAA production. The maximum production of IAA production was recorded for RLZ isolate of Zefta with value of 4.56 μg/ml, while the lowest production was recorded for RLK isolate of Kaha with 2.04 μg/ml. Moreover, all isolates were positive in their production of Catalase enzyme except RLZ isolate. The isolates were evaluated for their plasmid content and profiles produced after cutting by two restriction endonucleases (EcoRI and MSPI). SDS-PAGE analysis was used to distinguish between the different isolates based on their banding protein patterns. Genetic Diversity and Symbiotic Efficiency of Nodulating Rhizobia Isolated from Root Nodules of Faba Bean in One Field
Thirty-one nodulating rhizobium strains were collected from root nodules of spring and winter type faba bean cultivars grown in micro ecoarea, i.e. the same field in Chengdu plain, China. The symbiotic efficiency and phylogeny of these strains were studied. Effectively nitrogen fixing strains were isolated from both winter type and spring type cultivars. Based on phylogenetic analysis of 16S rR...
متن کاملSymbiotic And Phenotypic Characteristics Of Rhizobia Nodulating Faba Bean (Vicia Faba) From Tahtay Koraro, Northwestern Zone Of Tigray Regional State, Ethiopia
The ability of indigenous rhizobia to nodulate a legume crop effectively was critical to successful establishment and growth of legumes. This study was aimed to evaluate the symbiotic effectiveness along with growth responses to varied conditionslike pH, salt, temperature, antibiotics, and carbon and nitrogen sourcesfor rhizobial isolates nodulating faba bean from Tahtay Koraro, northwestern Zo...
متن کاملCompatibility of rhizobial genotypes within natural populations of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viciae for nodulation of host legumes.
Populations of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viciae were sampled from two bulk soils, rhizosphere, and nodules of host legumes, fava bean (Vicia faba) and pea (Pisum sativum) grown in the same soils. Additional populations nodulating peas, fava beans, and vetches (Vicia sativa) grown in other soils and fava bean-nodulating strains from various geographic sites were also analyzed. The rhizobia ...

This study was conducted to determine the abundance and symbiotic efficiency of native rhizobia nodulating common bean in Kisumu and Kakamega, Kenya. Soil sampling was carried out in three farms that had been used for growing common bean for at least two seasons and one fallow land with no known history of growing common bean or inoculation. Abundance of soil rhizobia and symbiotic efficiency (...
متن کاملEvaluation of germination and some biochemical indices of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) seeds stored at different temperatures and moisture content
This study was performed to investigate the effect of storage conditions on seed germination performance of faba bean (cv. Shami). For this purpose, a three factors factorial experiment was conducted in laboratory of Seed Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Yasouj University, in 2013-2014, based on CRD design with five replications. The experimental factors were storage temperature...
